Memex

New memex

A goldfish that remembers

Memex is a knowledge base you talk to. Keep the things worth knowing — dates, places, plans, preferences — and ask for them later, in your own words, from any conversation or language. Share the link and everyone draws on the same memory.

How to use it

  1. Tell it something

Say it the way you'd say it out loud, not in a form.

  2. Ask for it back

Ask in everyday language — no folders, tags, or exact wording.

  3. Share if you want

Send the link, or keep it to yourself. Everyone with the link remembers the same things.

Give anything a memory

  • A family

Stories, recipes, names, and half-remembered history contributed across generations and languages.

Why did Nana call the old house ‘The Ship’?
  • A fictional world

Characters, places, rules, clues, and canon remembered across campaigns or writing sessions.

Who knows that Captain Ilya is an impostor?
  • A living place

Years of accumulated knowledge about a garden, workshop, building, farm, or neighbourhood.

What finally stopped the mildew in the north greenhouse?
  • A project

Decisions, failed approaches, conventions, and the reasoning that disappears when people leave.

Why did we abandon the original sync protocol?
